Have you ever wondered, “Who is that one teacher everyone loves and gets snacks from who has a couch in her classroom?” That would be Mrs. Postle.

Those who know her know her as Ms. Dermody, but she recently got married on October 22nd, 2022, and her name changed to Mrs. Postle. Don’t worry, though, she will answer to any of the following: Ms. Dermody, Mrs. Postle, Ms. D, or Ms. P.

Mrs. Postle was born and raised right here in Louisville, Kentucky, spending most of her 25 years here.

She describes herself as compassionate, driven, organized, and goofy. Her hobbies include reading, watching Netflix, napping, playing with her cats, traveling, shopping, and cooking.

She got her Bachelor’s degrees in English and Journalism from the University of Kentucky and her Master’s in Education from Georgetown College.

She was inspired to be a teacher by her mom, who has been a teacher for over 20 years. Her mom told her not to do it, but she did not listen.

Mrs. Postle got her first teaching job here at Butler in 2020 during the pandemic and has been teaching English and Journalism here ever since.

She currently teaches freshmen English and is the adviser for Inkspot, which has been renamed “Butler Buzz,” Butler’s student media.

She said that Inkspot has “always been here but [she] wanted to change it up and move it online because that’s where media is these days rather than traditional print newspapers.”

She said that, if she wasn’t a teacher, she would be a famous novelist since she loves writing in her free time as well.

Stop into Room 234 to say hi to Mrs. Postle sometime and you may get lucky and get some candy.
