Students should be able to wear Crocs to school
November 14, 2022
As some may know, but many don’t, the school has made an adjustment to the school policy and rules about students wearing Crocs to school. This means that we can no longer wear Crocs to school anymore, except for when you have been given specific permission or it is a dress down day.
Teenagers want to be comfortable at school, and we don’t want to be judged on what we wear to school either. By letting kids wear Crocs to school, we can be more comfortable and not be judged by teachers and school administration for simply wearing comfortable shoes.
The school complains that these shoes are not safe for students to wear. But, if you look at the Croc clog design, you can see that they have an adjustable strap on the back that you can put on the back of your heel so you have support. We like to call this “sport mode.”
People all over the school wear house shoes to school and do not get in trouble for wearing them, even though, if you look in the school policies and rules handbook, you will see where it says no house shoes. But, still, if someone wears Crocs, they are getting a referral or a whole day in ISAP just over some shoes.
